About Me & Psychotherapy

Welcome to my psychotherapy practice. . .I am very proud to say. Therapy is my life’s work, my language, my livelihood, and my vocation. It has enabled me to heal, to break generational patterns, and bring up my children with healthier inclinations toward expressing their feelings, open communication, and appropriate boundaries with others. Being a therapist allows me to show kindness and respect for the human condition that I feel deep in my core, and I am truly grateful to be able to offer that experience to others. My clients have appreciated that I practice psychotherapy, not from a pedestal of all-knowing, but from an authentic experiential place as a fellow human who also walks the walk, while holding a knowledge base of 25+years of study and experience. My own process of healing has enabled me to guide others . . . and that is why this work is my privilege and I lead with my heart.

I knew from a very young age that I would a be a therapist, and that inclination led me to my studies at NYU for both undergraduate and graduate school. In my early therapeutic work I developed and carried out programs in all levels of mental health,  from day treatment with chronic mental illness, to group work with domestic violence survivors, to grief work with new mothers mourning the early loss of their own mothers. I then trained in a 3 year intensive post-graduate Gestalt Psychotherapy Program at the Gestalt Center for Psychotherapy and Training in NYC. I have been happily in private practice since 2006.

I practice psychotherapy from an open, intuitive, compassionate,  yet strong evidence-based clinical perspective.  My background is in psychology and Gestalt psychotherapy for many years, as well as bringing a vast knowledge base of body process from being a modern dancer, yoga teacher/practioner and movement therapist that informs my work to attend to the whole of my client. I am humbled by psychotherapy practice, the raising of my two teenage daughters, our family bunnies and the ushering of my mother through many years of living and dying.
